An Accra Circuit Court has placed three individuals in custody regarding the alleged concealment of 869 slabs of suspected cocaine hidden within bags of gari and cassava powder in Tema. The individuals charged are Gilano Jorgino Holwin, a Dutch security guard; Alhaji Iddrisu Haruna, a 56-year-old transporter; and John Mensah Sarbah, a 41-year-old clearing agent. ASP Haligah informed the court that Holwin resides in Cantonments, while Haruna and Sarbah live in North Legon and Nungua, respectively. Upon inspection, the prosecution stated that 869 slabs of substances believed to be narcotics were uncovered, concealed within the bags of gari and cassava powder. The prosecution stated that the exhibits had been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis and the preparation of a report.
