A viral street fight on Third Street has Baton Rouge bar owners saying enough is enoughBATON ROUGE — Some business owners and residents in downtown Baton Rouge say crowds gathering on Third Street on weekends are becoming a problem, with fights breaking out and police being called multiple times.
WBRZ first reported on a viral fight that took place outside a bar on Third Street this past weekend.
Baton Rouge police data show that in one year at that location, property damage and theft accounted for most reported crimes, followed by resisting an officer and disturbing the peace.
"If a fight happens in a bar, it's not the bar owner's fault per se, but it's the response," said Scott Wilfong of the ABC.
As community leaders push to grow downtown Baton Rouge, Wilson said safety should be part of that conversation.
