After guiding Eagle Valley to a 9-14 record and 7-5 league mark last fall, Garvey said he was “asked to not return” to his post. “And then the job came about at Eagle Valley. “I want to work with our coaches and I want to keep our coaches,” Garvey said. When asked to provide a state of the Eagle Valley athletic union, Garvey said he feels the community and team spirit are in a healthy spot. Their children — former Eagle Valley athletes — might be gone, but the couple isn’t settling for the empty-nester label.
