A title unification match was added to Heatwave. There was an NXT Women’s North American Championship match that took place on the August 11th NXT on The CW. During the bout, Saquon Shugars and Dion Lennox continued their fight from their singles match earlier on the show, and it made its way into the ring during the Women’s North American Title bout. As a way to convince Stone to make it official, she offered to put her WWE Women’s Speed Championship up for grabs in a title unification match, and Stone set the bout.
