Police K-9 teams from across the Northland gathered in Superior on Tuesday for a practice session ahead of this week’s annual Operation K-9 event. Operation K-9, now in its 12th year, gives the public an opportunity to see law enforcement dogs in action while raising money to support local K-9 programs. Organizers expect up to 17 K-9 teams from agencies across northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin to participate. “The K-9 demonstrations are always the big draw,” Kazel said. Proceeds from food sales, souvenirs and a silent auction will benefit the AMSOIL Northland Law Enforcement K-9 Foundation and support K-9 programs throughout the region.
