NAIROBI MAY 23, 2017(CISA) – Tangaza University College in Nairobi is set to host an International Conference on Sustainable Security and Peace in Africa on the theme, “Moving towards Sustainable Security and Peace.” According to Bernedetta Kariuki, the event coordinator, the conference that will run May 25-26 will bring together speakers and panelists from parts of Africa, Europe and North America to discuss peace practices and share experiences. “The conference is an effort to create synergy among peace building practitioners and share the successful best practices in peace and security that can be replicated in Africa,” Ms Kariuki toldCISA in a phone interview. “The significance of the conference on Sustainable Peace and Security is based on the reality in the African continent of perennial and new conflicts and therefore creating the need for sustainable peace and development,” she said. Tangaza University, a constituent College of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) has been planning for the event since November 2016 when they made a call for submission of papers.
