Australia is among dozens of countries demanding "no less than 24 hours" notice for missile tests after China's nuclear-capable launch last month.
"Recent missile testing activity in the Pacific area did not follow the standard practices adopted by most states to notify and deconflict (intercontinental ballistic missile, submarine-launched ballistic missile and space launch vehicles) launches," the US-led statement said.

China's nuclear-capable missile test has sparked condemnation from Canberra to Washington.
The notification, the countries said, "should include such information as the generic class of the ballistic missile or SLV, the planned launch notification window, the launch area, and the planned direction".
