MOORHEAD — Candidates in two Clay County races bypassed the primary election and will instead appear on the Nov. 3 ballot. Candidates for Clay County’s elected sheriff and county attorney positions did not have primaries. In Minnesota, nonpartisan offices have primaries when there are more than twice as many candidates than the number to be elected for a particular office, according to the Minnesota secretary of state website.
