Support HuffPost. California Uber and Lyft drivers have scored a major organizing victory as part of their push to unionize. In a press announcement on Friday, the California Gig Workers Union said that it had received sufficient support to represent hundreds of thousands of ride-sharing drivers across the state. Once the union is formally certified, drivers will be able to bargain with the likes of Uber and Lyft on issues such as wages, benefits and working conditions.
