Panda Mart could be forced to close its stores in Cranbourne and Preston as the Victorian consumer watchdog takes further action against the retailer.
Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) revealed late last week it had applied to the Supreme Court for the injunction, which would cover the Panda Mart stores in Cranbourne and Preston.
In January this year, Panda Mart was hit with 147 criminal charges over unsafe products being sold at its Cranbourne store.
Those charges have now reportedly been consolidated into 10 rolled-up charges that Panda Mart has indicated it will plead guilty to later this year.
“None of this means Panda Mart is uniquely unsafe, or that parcels can realistically be inspected one by one.
