Tuesday’s storms will stay somewhat spotty, with the best chances in Gallup, Grants, Silver City, Reserve and the Gila region. The main threats for what remains of Tuesday include strong erratic wind gusts, frequent lightning and brief heavy rain. Storms will move from south to north fairly slowly, which will allow a few storms to produce locally heavy rain. Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected Friday, with the best chances for heavy rain in Gallup, Grants, Silver City, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Taos and Ruidoso. By Saturday, several days of rain may have saturated the ground, meaning it may take less additional rain to produce flash flooding.
