Colombia coffee exports halted following earthquake

Global Coffee Report
The General Manager of the National Federation of Coffee Growers (FNC) Germán Bahamón says the time to rebuild coffee production capabilities will come, but the main focus now must be to save lives. Coffee exports out of Colombia have all but ground to a halt due to the earthquake, with damage causing disruption to key highways and the nation’s main port, Buenaventura. “There have been no reports so far of severe structural damage to coffee mills, but operations are being affected by electricity outages, connectivity problems and the personal impact on workers, including people who have lost their homes.”
