The Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA) will issue carbon-reduction guidelines for offices and restaurants this year to encourage businesses to save energy, reduce waste, and promote recycling. The bureau said it introduced guidelines for large-scale events in 2025 and will expand the initiative to workplaces and food and beverage establishments in 2026. It also noted that the Public Procurement Law, which takes effect Sept. 1, requires procurement entities using the “most advantageous tender” as an award criterion to consider environmental characteristics alongside other evaluation factors, giving environmental considerations a clearer role in public procurement.
