Kurnool: An awareness rally was organised at the Government General Hospital (GGH) here on Tuesday to mark World Organ Donation Day and sensitise people on the importance of organ donation. The programme was conducted under the supervision of GGH Superintendent Dr K Venkateswarlu. Kurnool Medical College Principal Dr K Chitti Narasamma and GGH Superintendent Dr K Venkateswarlu flagged off the rally. Dr Chitti Narasamma and Dr Venkateswarlu said misconceptions and fears surrounding organ donation should be dispelled by creating greater scientific awareness among the public. They said timely organ donation could help save the lives of several critically ill patients awaiting transplants.
