August 11, 2026 By A. O. BurleyApex for Youth announced on Aug. 11 that Diana Weng has been named the College Access Program Volunteer of the Year, recognizing her two years of dedicated mentorship to high school students navigating the college application process. For two years, she volunteered with Apex’s College Access Program (CAP), supporting 11th and 12th-grade students as they prepare for college applications, financial aid, and scholarship searches. Weng said her experience mentoring college juniors at Baruch inspired her to seek opportunities where she could have a greater impact earlier in students’ educational journeys. “I mentor my Baruch students, who are juniors in college. For Weng, seeing mentees open up is a clear sign that her presence matters: “Whenever one of my mentees opens up to me.”
