Among them is a sprinkler system equipped with infrared sensors that can detect fire. WATCH HERE WATCH HEREThe system, designed by Prodigy Wildfire Solutions, creates what founder Liam Shepphard describes as a "humidity bubble" around a property to help stop embers from igniting fires. Because the system is self-contained, it does not rely on a single water source, such as a swimming pool or municipal water supply. Instead, water is pumped from a 1,500-gallon tank to the sprinklers, Shepphard said. Chris Chandler, a homeowner who lives west of Yosemite, said he installed the sprinkler system on his property and now has "a little bit more peace of mind."
