Sentosa to raise beaches, future-proof island against rising seas as part of new masterplan

Sentosa is set to raise and widen its beaches as part of a major climate resilience push, one strand of a broader masterplan that will also see a new precinct developed on Brani Island by 2046.
Addison Goh, Divisional Director (Business & Experience Development) at Sentosa Development Corporation, said the beaches would be refreshed with new sand and lifted significantly to guard against rising sea levels.
The western plot is earmarked for an anchor attraction, hotel accommodation and commercial space, with Sentosa Development Corporation using the Australian visit to court potential developers.
Alongside wellness, Sentosa and the Singapore Tourism Board are working to attract more families and established-career travellers as the destination’s traditional active-senior visitor base evolves.
Goh said Sentosa was open to further collaboration with the Australian trade, including on events.
