Visakhapatnam: The state-level conference of Samatha, the women’s wing of Jana Vignana Vedika, was held at the Guntur Natural Hospital. The conference focused on strengthening women’s participation in social awareness and progressive activities and also elected a new state committee for Samatha. M. Swaroopa of Vizianagaram district was unanimously elected as the state president for the new committee, while Leelamma of Nellore district was elected as general secretary and Sandhya Rani of Anantapur district was elected as treasurer along with 17 other members. Retired High Court judge and Jana Vignana Vedika founder G Radha Rani attended the conference as chief guest. Jana Vignyana Vedika state president V. Brahma Reddy, state general secretaries Seenaiah and Vishwanath, national president Swaraj Lakshmi and national general secretary MVR Krishnaji were among those who participated in the conference and congratulated the newly elected committee members.
