Visakhapatnam: Zilla Parishad Chairperson J Subhadra called upon public representatives to play a proactive role in addressing public grievances, ensuring comprehensive development of villages and protecting natural resources. Through gram sabhas, the ZP Chairperson stressed that the needs and priorities of villages could be identified effectively, suitable development works could be recommended and suggestions for gram panchayat development plans can be provided. Further, Subhadra emphasised the importance of conducting social audits of works implemented under the scheme, monitoring the utilisation of funds, ensuring quality in development works and maintaining transparency at every stage. They appealed to the public representatives to actively participate in the implementation and monitoring of rural development programmes so that the benefits reach the intended beneficiaries.
