Visakhapatnam: Focusing on strengthening safety systems through improved maintenance practices, enhanced preparedness for monsoon conditions and effective management of level crossing (LC) gates, General Manager of South Coast Railway (SCoR) Sandeep Mathur chaired a comprehensive safety review meeting with principal heads of departments and Divisional Railway Managers of all four divisions of SCoR.
Sandeep Mathur directed departments and divisions to maintain continuous vigilance and ensure that safety protocols are translated into effective field-level practices.
The GM of SCoR called for regular inspections, systematic preventive maintenance and prompt rectification of deficiencies.
Reviewing the preparedness for continuing monsoon conditions, the GM instructed officials to maintain close watch over vulnerable locations, waterlogging-prone areas, drainage arrangements, cuttings, bridges, yards and other critical railway assets.
Adequate drainage and water evacuation arrangements were emphasised to prevent accumulation of water around tracks, RUBs and railway installations.
