Tropical Depression Likely as Atlantic System’s Development Chance Rises to 80 PercentA tropical wave in the central Atlantic is likely to become a tropical depression within the next two days as conditions become increasingly favourable for development. The disturbance is expected to move westward to west-northwestward across the central tropical Atlantic. Elsewhere, a short-lived tropical depression or tropical storm could form in the high-latitude central Atlantic through Wednesday from another system designated AL93. A third tropical wave just off the coast of West Africa is also producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Some development is possible as it moves westward or west-northwestward across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic.
