After being fired by the Boston Red Sox in April, Alex Cora is weighing his future. Cora revealed on the "Dirt from the Dugout" podcast with Karl Ravech (h/t The Athletic's Tim Britton) that he turned down an offer from the Philadelphia Phillies after they fired manager Rob Thompson. "I needed my family… At the end of the day, priorities are priorities. Cora has been enjoying his time off, spending time in Europe and watching World Cup games in Boston while making his hometown of Caguas, Puerto Rico, his home base for the time being. Cora said that whatever decision he makes will have to be best for his family.
