The State of Texas just stepped into a multi-state battle over who will be the parents of a baby. This is a developing story, and NBC DFW hopes to learn more in the days ahead. NBC DFW has reached out to the attorneys of the biological parents to hear their side of the story and has not yet heard back. NBC DFW has not yet heard back from the two hospital systems. Texas law does not recognize the Alaska surrogacy contract between the couple and the surrogate because it's not a "sister-state."
