Before I explain why this is so — at the very least, for me — let’s first explore the term “pro se.”
A person appearing pro se is representing their own interests in court without an attorney.
As a result, a pro se party almost always sells themselves short, leaves something on the table or, conversely, makes unreasonable demands.
So why I believe most attorneys prefer an attorney rather than a pro se party on the other side is simple.
Many times, I have been opposite a pro se party who is so unreasonable and so tied up with emotion that the case goes nowhere.
