A record number of Minnesota voters have cast early ballots ahead of Tuesday's primary election, according to Secretary of State Steve Simon.
As of Monday morning, 206,196 votes have been cast in the state primary, marking the largest pre-Election Day turnout in any primary election in a non-presidential year, Simon said.
Minnesota voters will select both GOP and DFL candidates for U.S. Senate and a Republican candidate for governor, among other contests.
"This is not new ... but I certainly understand why reports of agents of the federal government at the polls would alarm people, especially here in Minnesota," Simon said.
Bill Ekblad, the election security "navigator" in Simon's office, said officials are not aware of any attempts to disrupt Minnesota's primary election.
