FX has announced that “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” will return for its 18th season on Aug. 17, with new episodes airing at 9 p.m. EDT on FX and FXX, streaming on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ internationally. FX clarified that the artwork was produced through traditional artistic methods, and that the AI-inspired appearance was an intentional creative choice. The long-running comedy will feature 10 episodes, marking its first double-digit season since Season 14 after the previous three installments each consisted of eight episodes. Season 18 will also feature celebrity guest appearances and the return of the McPoyle family, portrayed by Jimmi Simpson, Nate Mooney and Thesy Surface. All previous 17 seasons remain available to stream on Hulu ahead of the Season 18 premiere.
