PITTSBURGH — A Shaler Township fire police officer died after suffering a medical emergency while working at a community event on Aug. 9.
The Shaler Villa Volunteer Fire Company said George Mullins Jr., a fire police officer with the Shaler Township Fire Police, suffered a medical emergency while working at a Community Car Cruise at Shaler Area Elementary School.
Roles, duties and history explainedA Shaler Hampton EMS crew at the event provided immediate medical care before Mullins was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
Mullins served with Shaler Villa for more than 30 years.
