The Vietnamese Red Cross has symbolically handed over a donation of 100 billion Vietnamese dongs, equivalent to approximately $3.83 million, to the Cuban Embassy in Hanoi. This comes at a time when Cuba is facing a severe economic crisis, and questions linger about the transparency of how the Cuban government manages international aid. During that campaign, over two million Vietnamese citizens contributed more than $23.3 million to Cuba. In contrast, recent aid from other countries and international organizations to Cuba has been delivered using different mechanisms. Although the new Vietnamese aid offers financial relief, it is limited compared to the scale of Cuba's accumulated needs.
