A 28-year-old Cuban national was taken into custody on Monday in southwest Miami-Dade, accused of taking photos and recording video of a Walmart employee inside a bathroom stall, as reported by the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office. The Walmart employee noticed the device and, upon exiting the bathroom, confronted Chamizo Martin, who was the only individual present in that section at the time. Security cameras inside the Walmart recorded the employee leaving the restroom visibly distressed while calling for his manager. After the incident, Chamizo Martin left the store, but a sheriff's deputy contacted his employer and convinced him to return. The immigration hold on Chamizo Martin indicates that immigration authorities have been notified of his arrest, which may result in additional consequences beyond the ongoing criminal proceedings.
