Eleven tenants of an apartment building in Tarentum can return home after being displaced for six days. That was the determination of a structural engineer who on Tuesday inspected the building adjacent to the former Tarentum Opera House, which partially collapsed Wednesday. The borough issued a statement to say the evacuation at 320 E. Fifth Ave., the Manos building, was lifted. Some sidewalks remain closed, as does the alley between the Manos building and 411 Corbet St. Those accesses won’t reopen until the damaged rear wall of the opera house is repaired. The owner of the building at 411 Corbet St. believes the building was damaged by a severe lightning strike.
