(ABC 6 News) — First responders will be holding the final Safe City Nights event of the summer in Rochester on Tuesday evening. The event will be taking place at Franklin Elementary School from 6-8 p.m. This year marks the seventh year of the program, which is designed to bring law enforcement and the community together in a fun, relaxed setting. Along with the Rochester Police Department, several agencies are participating, including the Minnesota State Patrol, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Rochester Fire Department, Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service and other community organizations. While the event offers plenty of entertainment, organizers say its main goal is helping children build positive relationships with law enforcement.
