ALEXANDRIA — When Wings Over Alexandria held its first-ever air show last year, more than 5,500 people attended. "Last year we were overjoyed and pleasantly surprised with how well the community supported the event," said Tyler Wirth, sponsorship coordinator/treasurer for Wings Over Alexandria. "As a first-year event, the attendance exceeded our expectations and really told us that the community needed an event like this. "We've got the Civil Civil Air Patrol, Douglas County Historical Society, Prairie Air, Vikingland Flying Club, Fargo Air Museum, the Army National Guard and the U.S. Wings Over Alexandria received a lot of positive feedback after last year's show, Wirth said.
