Jamestown, CA — 15 projects in California that received state funding broke ground this past quarter to help reverse decades of neglect of the behavioral health system. Among those is the Mathiesen Memorial Health Clinic’s new health and wellness center at the intersection of Highway 108 and 5th Avenue in Jamestown. CEO Jasmin Rice and Project Director John Vass spoke about the project on a recent Mother Lode Views (click here to listen). The Governor’s Office notes that the project received nearly $14 million from California’s Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program to help expand opioid treatment services. Related to strengthening rural treatment capacity, the Governor’s Office notes that the Jamestown project will add 24 outpatient treatment slots, serving 4,608 people annually.
