Woman Charged With Homicide By Vehicle In Bartow County
['Staff Reports']
Coosa Valley News
Georgia State Patrol troopers have booked a South Carolina woman into the Bartow County Jail on charges of homicide by vehicle in the first degree, driving under the influence of drugs, and reckless driving following a fatal crash near Adairsville.
Troopers from Post 3 in Bartow County responded just after 12:30 a.m. Sunday to a two-vehicle collision on Joe Frank Harris Parkway near Horseshow Road.
Investigators say 30-year-old Andrea Leigh Stegall of Greenville County, South Carolina, was driving a Toyota 4Runner southbound when she struck the rear of a Honda Accord driven by 34-year-old Ratanza Winters-Gardner of Adairsville.
Stegall was taken to Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center with what troopers describe as minor injuries.
Additional charges remain possible as the probe continues.
