Speakers at a function on Tuesday said that a section of people of Kalihati in Tangail wanted to remove the name of Rabeya Siraj, wife of the late Shahjahan Siraj, the reader of the Declaration of Independence and one of the organizers of the Liberation War of Bangladesh, from Rabeya Siraj High School. The foundation stone of the boundary wall and gate of Mahela Rabeya Siraj High School was laid and also a parents' meeting was held in Kalihati of Tangail on Tuesday morning on the school premises. Barrister Sarwat Siraj Shukla said that Mahela Rabeya Siraj High School has a rich history. The school established in the village of Mahela has been well established under the name of Rabeya Siraj High School." Earlier, the school's headmaster Ramesh Uddin highlighted the various problems of the school, infrastructural development and the overall situation of education.
