Party stakeholders have expressed concern that the national leadership has allowed external influences to sway significant party decisions, particularly regarding the Adamawa governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 elections. Dahi urged the party’s leadership to resolve these disputes promptly and transparently, warning that prolonged disagreements could weaken the ADC’s electoral prospects. The group questioned why a candidate who emerged through the party’s primary should allegedly be replaced by another aspirant who did not win the contest. According to the stakeholders Lawal’s comments reinforced concerns among ADC members over the direction of the party. “Replacing him after a primary election could weaken the ADC’s electoral chances and expose the party to criticism over its commitment to internal democracy”.
