July was just the hottest month on record in the US. So what does that mean for August?

July averaged a temperature of 76.9 degrees Fahrenheit, which was the highest average temperature for the region since record keeping began in 1895.
“Daytime maximum temperatures averaged 89.5 degrees Fahrenheit, 2.9 degrees Fahrenheit above average, ranking as the sixth-warmest month on record for average high temperatures, while overnight minimum temperatures averaged 64.2 degrees Fahrenheit, 3.7 degrees Fahrenheit above average,” NOAA explained, “ranking as the warmest month on record for average low temperatures, surpassing July 2022 by 0.7 degrees Fahrenheit.”
The fossil fuel industry’s greenhouse gases are continuing to warm the Earth’s atmosphere and are the largest contributor to global climate change.
