On Wednesday and Thursday this week in Wales there will "strong sunshine" and "very hot" temperatures of up to 33°C including in Cardiff, Carmarthen and Wrexham.
The Met Office forecast for the rest of the week states: "Wednesday: Dry with lots of strong sunshine, temperatures rising rapidly during the morning.
Heading into September the Met Office has predicted that the UK will see more heatwaves, especially in the south as hot weather returns.
"Temperatures will likely be above average and some spells of hot weather and heatwaves are possible, especially in the south."
