Investing.com -- Hiroshi Okuda, who led Toyota Motor Corp. as president and chairman during a period of global expansion in the late 1990s and early 2000s, died Tuesday, according to Japan's Kyodo News. When Okuda assumed leadership, Toyota faced declining profits and shrinking domestic market share. Under his leadership, Toyota built a factory in France and expanded production in the United States. Okuda left the board in 2009 during a management reorganization but continued to influence Toyota's leadership from outside the company.
