A verbal outburst in Whiteside County Circuit Court has led to the addition of criminal contempt to the roster of charges a Sterling man already faces. Pedro Galindo, 52, was slapped with that charge Monday afternoon during his preliminary hearing for armed violence and multiple drug charges filed against him in July. Burger testified Galindo was carrying a knife with a 10-inch blade while possessing substances that tested positive for meth and cocaine. He said the badge was marked as being from the Whiteside County Coroner’s Office. Galindo remains held in the Whiteside County Jail.
