Three contractors submitted bids for the Pelican Rapids Family Resource Center project when bids were opened Aug. 5 at the Government Services Center, according to documents from project architect Widseth Smith Nolting & Associates. The Pelican Rapids project has been underway with asbestos abatement by Stocks Asbestos Removal from the Bridge Center building as part of the Family Resource Center project, with an estimated cost of $23,421. Family resource centers are being developed by the county to house services for children and families in a single location in their respective communities. Otter Tail County applied for and received a Family Resource Center Development Grant, also from the Sauer Family Foundation, to continue the work with a goal of standing up Family Resource Center's within the county. The next regular meeting of Otter Tail County Commissioners will be held on Aug. 25.
