Standing in the heart of the historic city, these monuments represent two different but closely linked chapters of the Pakistan Movement. Minar-e-Pakistan, rising prominently at Iqbal Park, occupies the site where the historic session of the All-India Muslim League was held in March 1940. On March 23, 1940, the Lahore Resolution was presented at the session by A.K. His relationship with Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is also frequently highlighted in accounts of the Pakistan Movement. The towering Minar-e-Pakistan continues to dominate Lahore's skyline, while Iqbal's tomb rests quietly beside the Badshahi Mosque.
