ISLAMABAD – Pakistani motorists are set to get limited relief as the price of petrol has been slashed by Rs1.70 per litre, while Diesel has become Rs1.39 per litre more expensive under the latest petroleum price revision.
Petrol Price in PakistanThe petrol cut offers a modest breather for consumers, but the diesel hike could push up transportation and logistics costs, with commercial and heavy vehicles heavily dependent on HSD.
On Monday, the government kept petrol and high-speed diesel prices unchanged amid continued volatility in international oil markets, with the latest rates taking effect from August 11.
The government is collecting Rs114 per litre in taxes and duties on petrol and Rs100 on diesel.
Diesel powers heavy transport, power plants and large generators, making its price crucial for transportation and energy costs.
