Lyndhurst Parish Council said it would remove all glass vases from Lyndhurst Cemetery and its Circle of Remembrance on Wednesday following recent fires in the area. The move comes after a fire at nearby Boltons Bench on Sunday and the major wildfire close to the A31. A spokesperson for the council said: "We will be removing all glass vases from the cemetery and Circle of Remembrance tomorrow to reduce the risk of a fire outbreak. "The removed vases will be stored safely in the chapel until the hot weather has passed and the fire risk has reduced." Glass objects can sometimes intensify sunlight and have been identified as a potential fire risk during prolonged periods of hot, dry weather.
