The application, which was submitted to Wyre Forest District Council, will see a change of use for Honeybrook House in Kidderminster from an adult care home to a residential children's home with up to five children with autism and additional learning needs. The existing home provides care for 10 adults with 12 care staff present during the day and a manager with five care staff working overnight. The proposed home would provide care for five young people supported by up to six care staff and a manager during the day, and three staff overnight. This would comprise the five young people residing at Honeybrook and five pupils from a nearby home also under the applicants' care. The existing large care home would provide ample space to accommodate the proposed use, including classrooms.
