Police on July 31 arrested an 18-year-old New Canaan man and charged him with evading responsibility following a car crash. At about 9:32 p.m. on July 30 (a Thursday), officers responded to the intersection of South Avenue and Bank Street on a report of a two-car crash where one vehicle left the scene, police said. Police identified the evading vehicle through an investigation and charged the teen with the misdemeanor offense. He also was cited for following too closely. The teen was released after promising to appear Aug. 11 in state Superior Court.
