The Indian government says its Digital Agriculture Mission which seeks to build the “AgriStack” as a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) has reached a new milestone with more than 100 million farmer IDs now issued.
The ministry said as of August 3, 10.31 crore (103.1 million) farmer IDs had been generated, representing a substantial increase from the 9.20 crore (92 million) IDs issued as of March.
He added that registration for the scheme is already ongoing and will run till August 31, Business News Week reports.
With 100 million farmer IDs already issued, India is getting close to the 11 crore (110 million) issuance target it set for the 2026-2027 fiscal year.
