Taiz — Yemeni armed forces in the Taiz axis announced Tuesday that they thwarted a Houthi militia infiltration attempt in the Al‑Karifat front, east of Taiz city. A military source told September Net, the army’s official outlet, that stationed forces repelled the attempt and captured several Houthi fighters after fierce clashes. The source affirmed the readiness of Taiz axis units to confront any infiltration or escalation by the militia, safeguard their positions, and secure liberated areas. The incident followed heavy shelling by Houthi forces on civilian sites in the Shaqab area, southeast of Taiz, on Monday. According to Yemeni News Agency Saba, residents of Shaqab have endured more than 14,000 violations committed by Houthi forces, underscoring the scale of abuses in the area.
