John William Zapfe, 70, of Greensburg, IN passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family on August 9, 2026. He was born on June 9, 1956, in Millhousen, IN to Howard J. and Betty L. (Simpson) Zapfe. John is survived by his 3 children: John W. Zapfe Jr., Melissa (Zapfe) Castillo, William J. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard J. and Betty L. (Simpson) Zapfe; 2 brothers: Darrell Zapfe, Gilbert “Butch” Zapfe; and one grandson, Hayden A. Zapfe. Upon John’s wishes there will be no public viewing or funeral services.
