Drake Alexander Holcomb, 32, of Cave Spring, has been arrested and charged with forgery after police said he attempted to defraud the EZ Stop on Rockmart Road of $961.35 using a fraudulent check. According to the report, Holcomb allegedly knowingly possessed and presented a forged check made out using his name. Investigators said the company listed on the check had no knowledge of Holcomb and that the bank account used on the check had been stolen from the company. The report states the company had previously closed the account after experiencing issues involving fraud. Holcomb is charged with fourth-degree forgery and two counts of probation violation.
